Kaldoun Des Rocs probably has the best form of several French recruits, having finished a decent 2nd at Compiègne in March in his only race. A juvenile hurdle where he won a battle with the leader up the home straight, only to be caught on the run-in by Wild Bill Hickok. Both pulled clear of the rest.

The trainer has been posting some decent stats since running under rules, and it's jumping out that the booking of Sean Bowen on this one could be significant since he's never used him before. The horse was pitched into Listed hurdle company last time out after running on the AW. That was clearly above his level, but he's had a wind op now and gets one of the best around in the saddle. So 20/1 in a 9-runner race with the first 3 being paid looks the play. The horse won off 66 on the flat, and that translates to a 100+ hurdles horse, so that could well be good enough to see him figure here.

King Al is a 3yo gelding trained by Alan King. He is a two-time winner on the Flat with some useful form: 2/6 wins, posting a career-high RPR of 84 on his penultimate start when beaten a short head at Nottingham behind the progressive 3yo Mawood. King Al makes his hurdles debut today for a yard just finding their stride and should handle today's underfoot conditions, having won on heavy ground on his Flat debut. King Al could be a useful addition to the juvenile hurdle ranks. Despite the lack of a run over hurdles, his Flat experience can stand him in good stead on hurdles debut for a yard who can ready a 3yo juvenile hurdler: 81/326 wins, 11/52 with 3yo debutants and 8/24 with stable debutantes. Put in a CFC with Klycot and Zarakerjack.

Looked useful on the flat, showing his capabilities at distances up to 1½ miles for Tom Clover. He gained experience, finishing 14 lengths behind in second place in his hurdle debut at Kempton just 11 days ago. With this new stable, improvement looks likely, and the appealing odds make him a promising choice for an each-way bet.

Showed some promise in three starts on the flat, finishing 2nd once. This looks a tough race for a hurdles/stable debut, but with a hood applied for the first time, he has an each-way chance if transferring that ability to this discipline.

Klycot is a 3yo gelding making stable debut for little known trainer Richard J Bandey - he is a ex French horse who is 1/7 wins in France and finished a creditable 2/6 four starts back over 1m 4f on soft ground splitting some smart sorts Akido 1-1 and Nubuck 2l behind 7-1-3 owned by Godolphin - they all posted RPR of 101-97-101 - not so good since but this 3yo could be absolutely anything now that he reverts to hurdles being out of a smart sire The Grey Gatsby (Highest rated son of Mastercraftsman) who's prodgeny are taking well to the NH sphere 9/41 wins producing two decent horses Greyval 2-1-1 and Timetoshine 1-1-1 early in their hurdles careers for top yards like Fergal O'Brien and Nicky Henderson - dam was also pretty useful RPR 98 and won a 2m 1/2f flat race as a juvenile and has foaled four individual winners - Klycot is taken to surprise rivals from higher profile yards given his unexposed profile on hurdles debut.
