Carmers last race is starting to add up quite nicely, with a couple of subsequent winners already, and looks to be the one most likely to get this trip, without question marks. Good opportunity here.

None of these have tried this trip (1m6f) but Shackleton won over 1m1f as a 2yo at the end of September, a long distance for a 2yo and suggests he will be a stayer. Had a prep run over 1m2f at the Curragh last month, getting outpaced in a Group 3 contest. Looks a fairly weak race.

Ran a good 2nd of 8 last time out in a class 3 over 1m 3f 188yds on good to firm(ish) at York after being a bit keen early and then staying on the same pace at the finish. Extra furlongs today will suit after hopefully settling better under the same jockey.

This looks a really open race that lacks an outright potential superstar, and whilst he didn’t look like he wanted to go up in trip Pinhole takes a fair hike up here. The form took a major boost, and he wasn’t completely disgraced on reappearance behind the subsequent Derby winner and placed horse. He is a full brother to Cadogan Place who has placed over 2 miles, and there’s some fairly smart staying horses in both codes on the dams side, including a horse that stayed further than 3 miles on Gf ground. In a race where I found it tough to find a standout, I was happy to forgive him not taking to Chester and coming on for the run.

Fallen Angel is a 4yo is 4/9 wins and a winner of last years Irish 1000 Guineas - she handles today good to firm ground and should go well today in first time cheekpieces under James Doyle for Karl Burke who is 999 wins from 7411 runners in first time headgear.

Stayed well when won on return after beiing stepped up in trip. Second pick from the Ballydoyle squad but this combo jockey/trainer won the Epsom Derby and looks sure to stay. Big player.

The Crisfords trained Spinning Wheel won a novice lto at Yarmouth over 11 1/2f by a short-head making it 2-2. The form of his debut win at Redcar has been franked since. More to do here but place chance.

Worth a little E/W punt here, has run on into fourth a couple of times in listed company and shorter distances and the extra distance should help here, could land another place

James Owen might have the out sider here, but he can have one ready to run a very good race, which could see Hallelujah U with Jim Crowley in teh saddle sounding out a very good run. Won over twelve furlongs at Thirsk in a handicap, this is a big step up in class, which he can be shining through with being a colt by Pinotuba. 80/1 is a massive price, but he is in a field of a lot of ifs and buts with staying and a shock may not be a surprise, as James Owen has had 59 winners so far this season on the flat, at present time he can send the cat out and that could easily win. The Gredley Family are no strangers to winning big races and more than likely be here to see their horse run.
