Mulrennan and Goldie have been holding this horse back, in my opinion. It always has late headway. Today could be the day they strike to get the horse a long-deserved win.

Two stablemate runners from last year's winning yard of Jim Goldie go head to head here. Buick oddly made a meal of the other last time, and it has to be considered here under Mulrennann. But I'm opting for S Gray's ride in Abduction, which was all over them from 2 out but didn't get a proper split. Did have a chance up the rail, but he let it go. Looks a Dutch bet.

Preference here goes to the Richard Fahey trained, Monsieur Kodi. Makes his seasonal reappearance on turf after an up and down time on the AW. He did score quite comfortably at Chelmsford off his current mark of (74) in November last year, and backed that up with another bold showing at Newcastle off (77). Lost his way through the winter, and now returns to grass back on his last winning mark. Usually excels at this level and he's clearly well handicapped off past exploits. The return of Oisin Orr is another compelling angle having previous winning form.

Two wins and two runner-up spots from the last four starts, including when battling well to take the spoils over today's course and distance last time out. Goes on any ground and looks sure to run a big race today with the in-form Jason Hart taking the ride.

Rock Opera has been placed twice in four runs this year. Although up 1 lb today to a 79, his last win was off a 77. He does have a 5 lbs claimer on top and is worth a shot.

CARGIN BHUI went close at this venue last season at around this time of year. There could be some significance with that pointer as a spring/summer developing type and possibly having needed his most recent run he could be ready to get involved from an attractive career-low mark today.

Completed hat-trick under this rider in January with plenty in hand and is only 4 lbs higher than the latest win. Some very nice efforts in better races than this over 7f recently, giving the impression the return to 6f will suit.

The familiar Mr Wagyu continues without a win, but he has a chance of being involved, having become well-treated and now rated some sixteen pounds lower than when running some great competitive races a similar time last year at Epsom and Ripon. Some of his races recently have been on less than ideal soft ground. He's included for place purposes at a course where he's had success previously.

Should there be a cut in the ground, or softer by this time of the day, Ian Jardine's runner has the form to deliver. Perhaps mark a bit higher than when a winner in September of last year and contesting a class higher now. However, performed well after a break on two occasions and one with experience at this track.

At the bottom third of the handicap mark in this field and now just 3 lbs higher than the last winning mark. It's worth noting that he has won off a higher mark in the past. Also helps being a course winner, so he can be a threat tomorrow.

Interesting recruit for the Grant Tuer yard here, with a pretty interesting page too. Form so far is not reliable, hence the price probably, but worth an each-way bet.
