7:15 Doncaster Tips

Previous course and distance winner. Goes on all ground so is versatile. Only 1lb above last winning mark and should have a good chance here.

At around 11/2, Two Tribes looks an obvious each-way bet after showing plenty of promise in a York sprint last time out. He was slowly away and outpaced from an unfavourable wide draw but found his stride a little too late, finishing very strongly to grab a never-nearer fourth. I suspect this extra furlong will suit him. He seems progressive this year and probably needed this trip, so he should be thereabouts again off the same mark.

Billyjoh came into form last time at Leicester and hasn't won for a while so looks on a handy weight in this handicap with conditions to suit.

Eldrickjones is trained by Roger Fell (25 percent strike in the last fortnight). Has run well in two starts this season, winning at Newcastle and then finishing second at York last time out. Each way chance.

A tough campaigner with plenty of runs since last win in 2022. Ran a solid third at Thirsk over 8f recently, showing he still has something to offer. His strike rate is low, but he’s consistent enough to chance an each-way bet here, especially if the pace suits and he could sneak into the frame again.

Won two in a row for the previous trainer at this time of year and won for the current team last August. May need the run here, hence e/w.

Won over this trip on the 21st of April and will welcome the drop in trip and ease in grade after 2 races over a mile in Class 2. This Class 3 should me more suitable.

LORD BERTIE does cope on good ground, and he's bagged himself a good draw in gate 8, and trainer David O'Meara can work his magic on this fella, tried in a first-time hood. He probably needs a galloping track on a sound surface at seven furlongs, so he could surprise a few here.

Grand Traverse has been off the track for just over a year, but this gelding has shown he can run well fresh. When trained in France, he won on debut as a 3-year-old for André Fabre, joined Archie Watson, and went on to win on the first run of last year. Went up 8 lb for that win, and in three subsequent runs, failed to progress but had excuses. Any further rain shouldn't hinder his chances, as he won on soft ground in France.
