This horse is costing me a fortune as he has looked a winner in waiting all season but things just haven't fallen right for him. Only ran two days ago when 2nd, he now sees the return of a good claiming jockey taking 5lb off. That may be the difference he needs to get his head in front.

Dannick was due to run at Chester this evening but has been scratched and is also out of a race at Salisbury he was entered in tomorrow, so he is left with just this race. Having been entered and scratched in 6 races now, only once with a vet certificate provided, I am hoping he takes up this engagement. His owners, Dan and Nick, have been patient. This is winnable on the form he's shown, probably the easiest of the three options. He's been gelded and the trainer appears to have ironed out his issues with the stalls. The way he has been staying on in his races, he would have won his last two but for being too keen and expending energy. He's a sure-fire winner. Hopefully, he'll run and we may get around 8/1 once again. He's run on turf before, and he's rated 75 for this and is unexposed. I am envisaging a massive run and can repay the patience. Like this evening he's a maximum each way bet with some firms offering four places I am told

Ran well in defeat on soft ground conditions last time out, can do better today on the faster ground conditions, more suitable. Not much racing on turf so far this year so probably more to offer. This Class of race will be fine , should be given every chance by the jockey.

Great won the hard way at Windsor but had enough in reserve to switch out and beat eleven reasonable opponents, three of whom have won subsequently. He steps up to 7 furlongs today but has stamina on the dam's side and should bring out further improvement on the colt's handicap debut. Dapper Guest looks a danger with cheek pieces on again after success last time.

Comes here off the same mark as when unlucky in running on handicap debut last time. Finished with running left having got into the clear too late. Can go well here.

The selection is a course and distance winner. One pound lower when he last won. Five-pound claimer reduces the weight more.

Dapper Guest is not the most consistent, but he arrives in winning form and has run creditably at this venue in the past. If the pace collapses late, he could stay on strongly at big odds. Worth a speculative try. Alternative pick (high odds): Dapper Guest to win @ 15.00
