Shakazia has finished in 2nd place in both her runs in maidens this season, last time only beaten a head at Leopardstown. She looks by far the most likely winner in this large field maiden.

This 3-year-old showed a promising 3rd last time out and has a top jockey in Wayne Lordan. With that recent form and the age allowance, Perfect Base is well-placed to build on that performance and secure a top-two finish.

Skybet are offering 4 places in this 17-runner race (currently), and there is an odds-on favorite. But there will be a big-priced place finisher here, maybe two in the top 4, but I'm not sure about the top 3. Watching quite a few of the previous races today, I have found quite a lot all started poorly, which will be a nightmare today in this big field. But Sandi O Mali (backed with 365 at 14-1) started okay and was quick into stride and got to the front from an inside draw. Probably did a bit too much and didn't have much left in the last furlong, losing a few places, but was 6th and only about 6 lengths behind Alfred Tennyson, so that was a better race than this. Drawn in 3 today, so has to get away well again and, in my opinion, can hold on today for a top 3 finish. The two I bet with Skybet at bigger prices and 4 places are Qvee & Ribble Emperor, who also have low draws, but will both need to start a lot better. (Ribble Emperor lost more ground in the first 100 yards than what it lost by.)

From the powerful Joseph Patrick O'Brien stable and ridden by Dylan Browne McMonagle, this 3-year-old benefits from an age allowance against older, more exposed maidens. The stable is excellent with young horses, and this one likely needed its initial run(s) and is expected to improve significantly.

Those with form look fairly ordinary so a chance is taken on the very well related debutant Barnattin whose small yard have gone to the trouble of hiring Chris Hayes to guide her round.
