Ballycashin is a former winner at Clonmel (well-backed and ran out an easy six-length winner off a mark of 102 on this card last year but over 2m3f). Runs off a mark four pounds higher here, again follows a fair effort at Punchestown. Close to the foot of this handicap hurdle, Donagh Meyler rides the 8-year-old mare. Interesting having won easily here a year ago and has a fair chance in this company.

FASCINATING SHADOW gets back his ground and could be well laced well treated at the base of this weak looking handicap hurdle. He comes from a shrewd Irish source who place well and arriving on the back of an encouraging effort on the flat latest he can be expected to show up well.

This looks like a modest and open handicap hurdle, and my selection is Mountain Port. Tailed off at Punchestown on stable debut, but previous form was better and has won a maiden hurdle. With some improvement and now settled in, if stepping up here with past ability, definitely not ruled out at 33/1 today.
