Real Madrid set to face Atalanta in the 2024 Super Cup on Wednesday evening

UEFA's annual Super Cup football match is set to take place at the National Stadium in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday with Champions League winners Real Madrid facing Europa League victors Atalanta and betting sites are now offering odds.

Real's 15th Champions League win came against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley back in June in typical fashion with the Spanish giants somehow finding a way to win.

The Champions League and Real Madrid are a perfect match for each other with current manager Carlo Ancelotti winning the trophy three times as manager of the club.

He'll head into the Super Cup with supreme confidence of winning Real's sixth title in the competition with 2022's win against Eintracht Frankfurt their most recent victory.

Bet365's latest odds put Real as the 11/20 favourites to win the match with Atalanta currently out to 15/4 in the classic WDW market.

Kylian Mbappe set to make his debut for Real after moving from PSG this summer

Real Madrid have their brand new Galactico in Kylian Mbappe and we could well see him make his competitive debut for the club in the Super Cup.

Carlo Ancelotti has told reporters that Mbappe can play in the game from the start meaning that the first time we see him as Real's new number 9 will be in Poland on Wednesday.

Mbappe took part in Real Madrid training for the first time on Wednesday 7 August but he will be no stranger to the majority of the players who he will star alongside next season.

The French striker had a poor European Championship campaign after suffering a broken nose early on in the competition and he'll be looking to kickstart his career in Madrid with an early trophy.

Atalanta will be more than happy to go into match as underdogs

Atalanta head into the Super Cup as big underdogs with manager Gian Piero Gasperini playing down their chances significantly in recent days.

The Italian manager told publication l’Eco di Bergamo that the season is already a complicated one after Giorgio Scalvini and Gianluca Scamacca both suffering serious knee injuries.

Gasperini spoke about the tough games his side have to start the season saying that his squad, "is much less competitive than it was at the end of last season."
