  • Belgium national team manager Roberto Martinez favourite to manage Barcelona with bookmakers
  • Former player Xavi Hernandez second favourite in the market
  • Ronald Koeman currently under pressure at Barcelona following poor start to season

Roberto Martinez 5/2 favourite to be next Barcelona manager with bookies

Barcelona have had a tough start to the season with points dropped in two La Liga games and a thumping in the Champions League from Bayern Munich at the Nou Camp.

This has made manager Ronald Koeman's job under serious threat, with reports in Spain suggest he is "on the verge of being sacked" by the Barca board.

It's Belgium manager Roberto Martinez who is the favourite in the Next Barcelona Manager market at bookmakers, with his Belgium side playing the style of football which we've seen from Barcelona over recent years.

Xavi Hernandez second favourite in the market at 10/3

Former player Xavi Hernandez has consistently been linked with a return to Barcelona as manager ever since he became manager of Qatari side Al Sadd.

This has only strengthened with his team winning the Qatari Stars League last season and he would be a popular manager in a difficult period in Barcelona's history.

Domenec Torrent, Pep Guardiola's assistant while he was manager at Barcelona, also features in the betting markets for this position. Torrent would bring the Barca style of play that they would be hoping to return.

Next Barcelona Manager Odds Probability
Roberto Martinez 5/2 28.6%
Xavi Hernandez 10/3 23.1%
Andrea Pirlo 5/1 16.7%
Antonio Conte 5/1 16.7%
Domenec Torrent 9/1 10%

Ronald Koeman currently under pressure at Barcelona following poor start to season

Barcelona currently sit in 8th in the La Liga table and don't look to be improving off the pitch.

The departure of Lionel Messi in the Summer to PSG hindered the club massively and financial issues in the club have damaged their title hopes even further.

Barca are already 8 points behind Real Madrid in La Liga and are out to odds of 5/1 to win the league due to this.

Barcelona have already drifted out to 5/1 to win La Liga after a poor start to the season sees them already 8 points behind leaders Real Madrid.
