Antonio Conte set to take over at Tottenham according to reports
Tottenham sacked manager Nuno Espirito Santo this morning after a dismal start to his reign at the club.
The latest result was a 3-0 home defeat against Manchester United at that seemed to be the last straw for Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board.
The announcement of Nuno's dismissal was not a shock to anyone with reports that he was a dead man walking straight after Saturday's game.
What may come as a surprise is that Antonio Conte is the leading candidate for the Tottenham job according to betting sites.
Conte was reportedly Spurs' leading target in the Summer, but the Italian's reluctance resulted in them looking elsewhere and ending up with Nuno.
Fast forward 4 months and the rumours that Conte was linked with the Manchester United job, if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was to leave, meant that Spurs look to have acted quickly and will try and get Conte as manager.
Bookmakers have already installed Conte as a 1/3 favourite in the market.

Ex-Roma Manager Paulo Fonseca second favourite in betting market
Paulo Fonseca is one of those manager's who have been in every single betting market for jobs that have opened in the UK lately.
The former Roma manager was another one who was linked with the Tottenham job in the Summer when they were looking for a successor to Jose Mourinho, but nothing ever happened between the two parties.
Four months down the line and Fonseca features in the odds for the next Newcastle manager, next Manchester United manager and many more and it may be that the Tottenham job is the role that he misses out on again.
Bookies have installed him as the 6/1 second favourite in the market for the role.
Nuno Espirito Santo sacked after poor start to his reign
Saturday evening's Premier League game saw Tottenham host Manchester United in a game that the press described as 'El Sackico'.
As it turned out, that description was absolutely perfect with Nuno Espirito Santo sacked by Spurs on Monday morning with the 3-0 loss to United in that game the final nail in the coffin for Nuno.
The Portuguese manager was instantly slashed to 1/8 to be the next manager to leave on Sunday afternoon, with Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board discussing wether it was right to relieve him of his duties.
Now on Monday morning, Nuno has been sacked and the Tottenham board are looking for the next manager to take over and hopefully get Tottenham to a place where they are competing for silverware.
