Frank Lampard is currently 17/2 with bookmakers to become the next Southampton manager, with a return to management for Lampard potentially on the cards.

Lampard is without a club since leaving Chelsea earlier this year, with his Chelsea squad going on to win the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel.

The signing of Lampard at Southampton could be perfect for both sides, with the English manager being a big name to attract some big players to the south coast. 

It's Eddie Howe who leads the way in the betting market, with Alan Pardew, Steve Cooper and Steve Bruce also on the list to take over at the Saints.

With an implied probability of 10% given by bookies, they aren't giving Lampard a massive chance to take over at Southampton but he's still one of the names on the list.

Eddie Howe favourite to take over at Southampton despite being set to take over at Newcastle

Eddie Howe is currently favourite in so many different managerial markets that it's hard to keep count. 

With talks between Howe and Newcastle reportedly ongoing, it may be that Howe won't be available in the market for much longer. 

The former Bournemouth manager has been linked with Southampton regularly with countless reports suggesting that Howe will want to stay close to his family in the south of England.

At odds of 6/4, bookmakers clearly think that there's a great chance of Howe coming back to the Premier League with the Saints next.

Current manager Ralph Hassenhuttl's role has constantly been under threat, especially when he's lost games 9-0 twice under his reign, so it wouldn't be a shock if the position became available. 

Eddie Howe is the 6/4 favourite for the Southampton job, with reports suggest that Howe wants to stay in the South of England to be close to family.

Alan Pardew in the betting market to make shock return to Southampton

Alan Pardew is a shock candidate in the next Southampton manager market, with the former Saints manager clearly included due to his previous spell at the club. 

Pardew has been out of management since he was at Dutch club ADO Den Haag but left that role after 1 win in 8 games and the season ending due to the coronavirus pandemic.

His current role sees him as 'advisor to the owners on football manners' at CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria. 

Steve Bruce also is on the betting list to take over at Southampton, with the former Newcastle manager obviously out of work since his high profile departure at the Toon. 

Steve Cooper is the other candidate low down in the betting and he has turned around fortunes since taking over at Nottingham Forest recently.
