Australian Kevin Muscat is now into 4/1 with bookies to be the next Rangers manager after reports on Monday morning stating that he is interested in the role having just won the Japanese title with Yokohama F. Marinos.

Reports on Monday linked Muscat with the Rangers job with Talksport saying that the Australian is interested in the vacant role following Michael Beale's departure on Sunday.

BetVictor instantly slashed Muscat's odds into being the next Rangers boss with the latest betting market now suggesting there's a 20% chance of him taking over at Ibrox.

Graham Potter is the favourite with bookmakers but those same reports say that the former Chelsea manager isn't interested in taking over at the Scottish giants.

Beale dismissed after Rangers lost 3-1 at home to Aberdeen on Saturday

Michael Beale was sacked by Rangers on Sunday after 10 months in charge of the club, with the Gers already seven points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table.

Steven Davis has now took over temporarily as part of the interim managerial group at Rangers ahead of their Europa League game against Aris Limassol on Thursday.

The Gers will be looking for a new manager in the upcoming days with the pressure finally reaching it's boiling point on Beale's position at the weekend with a 3-1 loss at home to Aberdeen.
