Erik ten Hag moves into 2/1 to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked this season
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has now moved into 2/1 with bookmakers to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked this season.
Premier League Next Manager to be Sacked | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Steve Cooper | 4/6 | 60.0% |
Erik ten Hag | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Roy Hodgson | 6/1 | 9.1% |
Vincent Kompany | 14/1 | 6.7% |
Rob Edwards | 25/1 | 3.8% |
Ten Hag's odds have shortened from 10/1 last week to just 2/1 now following Man United's shock 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.
United struggled against Bournemouth's pace in their counter attack, with the Cherries playing United at their own game with a similar style we've seen over the years from the Red Devils.
BetVictor's latest betting market has seen ten Hag's odds tumble down from 10/1 to the 2/1 he sits at now to be sacked next with those odds putting him as second favourite in the market.
United now have a tricky Champions League fixture at home to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night that they must win to stand any chance of getting through their group.

Steve Cooper remains the favourite but his odds drift slightly from 1/6 to 4/6
Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is still the bookies favourite to be sacked next after reports towards the back end of the week said his position was under threat.
Cooper's position in charge of Forest remains uncertain with the Daily Mail reporting on Monday that his job is under threat with the Wolves draw at the weekend only papering over the cracks.
Oliver Glasner is on the shortlist for Forest bosses to take over from Cooper according to those same reports with Julen Lopetegui also under consideration.

Paul Heckingbottom is only manager sacked so far this season in Premier League
Only one manager has been sacked in the Premier League so far this season with Sheffield United's Paul Heckingbottom relieved of his duties last week.
Heckingbottom was immediately replaced by former manager Chris Wilder who returned to the club after he left back in March 2021.
Manchester City loanee James McAtee scored a worldie for the Blades to give Wilder a 1-0 win and his first win back as manager at home to Brentford.
The Blades remain bottom of the Premier League table and are five points behind Everton in 17th after the Toffees beat Chelsea on Sunday.
