Paul Heckingbottom now as short as 1/3 to be the next Premier League manager to go this season
Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom is now just 1/3 to be the next Premier League manager to leave after his side's humiliating 8-0 loss to Newcastle on Super Sunday.
The Blades were embarrassed at Bramall Lane with eight different scorers hitting the back of the net for Newcastle in what was Sheffield United's worst ever league defeat.
With 4,988 games played the Blades had never lost in such a manner and Paul Heckingbottom now will surely be under pressure following the scoreline and performance.
Paddy Power now say there's a 75% chance of him being the next Premier League manager to leave his position following the defeat which sees them sit rock bottom of the table.
Next Premier League Manager to Leave | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Paul Heckingbottom | 1/3 | 75.0% |
Sean Dyche | 9/1 | 10.0% |
Mauricio Pochettino | 12/1 | 7.7% |
Gary O'Neil | 14/1 | 6.7% |
Andoni Iraola | 14/1 | 6.7% |
What the expert says...
Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom sees his odds shorten even further to 1/3 to be the next manager sacked after his side were thrashed 8-0 at home to Newcastle on Sunday.
Sean Dyche remains second favourite despite Everton's impressive 3-1 win away to Brentford
Everton boss Sean Dyche is still second favourite with bookmakers to be the next manager to leave despite the Toffees finally winning their first game of the Premier League season in their 6th attempt.
The Toffees played brilliantly with chance after chance in the game and now Dyche's odds to go have drifted out to 9/1 as they will look to kick on up the table now.
Those latest betting odds suggest that there's a 10% chance of Sean Dyche being the next manager to go and he may be under pressure with Everton set to be taken over by 777 Partners.
Luton Town remain the favourites to be relegated with Sheffield United just behind them
Even though it was Sheffield United who shipped 8 goals at the weekend it's still Luton Town who remain the bookies favourites to be relegated from the Premier League this season.
Luton earned a hard-fought point at home to Wolves on Saturday with a controversial Carlton Morris penalty equalising for the Hatters to grab their first point in the Premier League.
Sheffield United's odds have unsurprisingly shortened after that 8-0 loss though with the latest betting market now suggesting a 75% chance that they go down.
Premier League Relegation 23/24 | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Luton Town | 1/6 | 85.7% |
Sheffield United | 1/4 | 75.0% |
Burnley | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Everton | 9/4 | 30.8% |
Bournemouth | 5/2 | 28.6% |
Wolves | 11/4 | 26.7% |
