Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag remains the odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave

Betting markets remain available on the dreaded Sack Race this season with Erik ten Hag remaining favourite with UK Betting Sites to be the first Premier League manager to leave.

Ten Hag's United side drew 0-0 away at Aston Villa on Sunday to officially confirm the club's worst ever start to a Premier League season with 8 points in their opening 7 games.

Unfortunately for the United boss this beat his own record from last season where his side won 9 points from their opening 7 and this has heaped the pressure on him going into the international break.

Members of the United board were seen in the crowd at Villa Park yesterday ahead of their reported meeting this week where Ten Hag's future is likely to be discussed.

BetVictor's latest betting market gives a 55.6% chance that Ten Hag is the first manager to be sacked in the Premier League this season.

Gary O'Neil has shortened into second favourite after Wolves bad start to season continued

Wolves 5-3 defeat to Brentford on Saturday has now seen manager Gary O'Neil shorten into joint second favourite to be sacked with the bookies.

O'Neil has seen his side start the season off without a win with just a point gained in the Premier League and question marks have began to surround his future.

Reports in the Telegraph though on Sunday say that the Wolves board give O'Neil their full support and will give him time to turn things around despite just 1 win in 17 Premier League games.

United now 4/1 to finish in the bottom half this season after their worse ever start

Erik ten Hag's Manchester United now sit in 14th place in the Premier League and bookmakers have shortened their odds to finish in the bottom half this season.

United are now just 4/1 to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League with those latest odds giving a 20% implied probability that they do so.

Ten Hag's side have had their worst ever start to the season and will be looking to turn things around after the international break to try and kickstart their season off already.

Current United assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is the 2/1 favourite to takeover at Old Trafford next with the club potentially placing him as an interim replacement.
