  • Mauricio Pochettino the 2/1 favourite for the job after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's departure
  • Current interim manager Michael Carrick is 9/2 for the role with bookies
  • Bookies give odds of 12/1 that Man United win their next 3 Premier League fixtures

Mauricio Pochettino the 2/1 favourite for the job with bookmakers

Manchester United are looking for a new manager after the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday following the club's 4-1 defeat to Watford this weekend.

Current Paris St Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino is the bookmakers favourite at 2/1 to take over at Man United.

Next Manchester United Manager Odds Implied Probability
Mauricio Pochettino 2/1 33.3%
Brendan Rodgers 9/2 18.2%
Michael Carrick 5/1 16.7%
Zinedine Zidane 13/2 13.3%
Erik Ten Hag 10/1 9.1%

Pochettino being the manager of PSG will provide a tricky hurdle for him becoming United manager next, with a big compensation payout needed to get him out of that role.

With odds of 2/1 at betting sites, it's clear to see that bookmakers feel that there's a good chance of it happening though.

Brendan Rodgers is the 9/2 second favourite and has been linked with the move by some reporters, but again there would be a big compensation package that Leicester would need to get him away from the King Power Stadium.

Mauricio Pochettino is the bookmakers favourite to take over at Manchester United despite still being manager of PSG. With Brendan Rodgers 9/2 second favourite, it looks like Man Utd will be drawing on Premier League experience with their next appointment.

Current Interim manager Michael Carrick is 9/2 third favourite for role

Michael Carrick is second favourite with bookmakers to take over at Old Trafford with the former player currently taking over from Solskjaer as interim boss.

It may be that United appoint Carrick in the role with a view to signing someone permanently in the Summer.

Former favourite Zinedine Zidane has drifted out to 13/2 after reports that he doesn't want to move to England.

Despite other reports in the press that Zidane had been learning English, it seems that he won't be taking over at United anytime soon for a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bookies give 12/1 odds that Man United win their next three Premier League fixtures

Manchester United are currently on a bad run of form and it'll take a lot for Michael Carrick to turn that around.

Bookmakers are giving odds of 12/1 that Carrick does just that and United win their next three games in the league.

They face Chelsea away, Arsenal at home and Crystal Palace at home.

Bookmakers give odds of 12/1 that Man United win their next three Premier League games, up against Chelsea away and then Arsenal and Crystal Palace at home respectively.
