Bookies now give odds on who will replace Pep Guardiola as next Man City manager

Betting odds are now given on the next Manchester City manager after a run of four consecutive defeats has seen question marks around Pep Guardiola's future once again with his contract running out in the summer.

Guardiola has openly said that he hasn't made his mind up on his future at City as of yet but when he does eventually leave there are massive shoes to fill for role as manager of the Sky Blues.

La Liga club Girona are part of the City Football Group and it is their manager Michel who is the early favourite at 9/4 to switch clubs within the same group and take over at Manchester City next.

Xabi Alonso follows just behind him with the Leverkusen manager having played under Pep Guardiola and learnt from him during his footballing career before switching into management.

BetVictor's latest betting market gives a 30% implied probability that Michel is chosen as the next man for the Man City job in a market that features some massive names behind him.

What the expert says...
Girona manager Michel is the leading contender in the betting odds to replace Pep Guardiola as Man City boss with the fellow City Football Group manager seemingly a straightforward replacement to make for the club.

Crisis run sees City lose four games in a row for the first time since 2006

Manchester City may have won four Premier League titles in-a-row but have now lost four matches in-a-row for the first time since 2006 when Stuart Pearce was manager.

Pearce’s City lost the final three games of the 2005/06 Premier League season before an opening day loss in 2006/07 and now Pep Guardiola shares the same losing streak.

The run is the worst in Guardiola’s managerial career and means that City are now out of the Carabao Cup, well off it in the Champions League and 5 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

Liverpool now firm favourites for the Premier League title

Liverpool now top the betting market to win the Premier League title this season after Arne Slot’s men took a five point lead into the final international break of 2024.

Slot is performing fantastically against the expectations at the start of the season after he replaced iconic Reds manager Jurgen Klopp in the summer.

Such big shoes to fill left many wondering if we would see Liverpool struggle but that hasn’t been the case with Slot’s men firing in all competitions this year.

Now the latest betting odds for the title put Liverpool clear at the top of the market ahead of City and Arsenal who follow behind as second and third favourites respectively.
