Xabi Alonso remains favourite to replace the departing Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager

Betting remains available on who will be the next Liverpool manager with Jurgen Klopp announcing that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season back in January.

Bookies have betting odds on who will be the man to take over at Anfield next with former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso remaining the favourite to replace Klopp.

Alonso is currently manager of Bayer Leverkusen and the club are having a remarkable season as they remain unbeaten throughout 2023/24 without a loss in their 38 games.

This form and the fact that they are 10 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga has made Alonso one of the most sought after managers in Europe this summer.

BetVictor make Liverpool 11/10 to sign Alonso as Klopp's replacement in the summer but they may have competition from Bayern Munich who are also rumoured to be after the manager and he is also their former player as well.

Ruben Amorim close behind in the betting market with bookies putting the pair as the top two in the odds list

Ruben Amorim has seen his odds tumble in recent weeks to become the next Liverpool manager with bookies moving his odds from 6/1 to just 2/1 now to replace Klopp at Anfield.

Popular football journalist Fabrizio Romano told the Men in Blazers podcast that Amorim is a "concrete candidate" for the Liverpool job with a rumoured release clause in his Sporting contract.

The current coach of Sporting Lisbon is still young and at 39 has already managed more than 200 games of the club with a 69.9% win percentage as manager.

Liverpool are 2/1 to win the Premier League title this season

Betting also remains open on the Premier League title race and it's firmly a three-way battle with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all within a point of each other.

Arsenal travel to the Etihad this weekend to face City with the winner of that game likely to move into betting favourite to win the Premier League this season.

City currently remain favourites with Liverpool now 2/1 in the betting market with Jurgen Klopp looking to win the title for the second time in his career with Liverpool.

It'd be the dream send off for Klopp with the club also in the running for the Europa League to add to the Carabao Cup that they won earlier in the season.
