Metallica are the 6/1 favourites to have the next Las Vegas Sphere residency
American heavy metal band Metallica are now the 6/1 favourites to be the next artists to announce a Las Vegas Sphere residency with odds continued to be offered with betting sites.
Metallica have been linked with a residency at the Sphere for the past 18 months but there has been no movement on it happening as of yet.
Back at the start of 2024, Metallica bassist Rob Trujillo spoke to Metal Hammer about a potential Sphere residency saying, "if we do end up playing the Sphere, I’d say that seed is being planted about now".
That certainly didn't rule it out and now the band are the clear favourites to be the next act to announced their residency at the famous venue with betting odds putting some massive names towards the top of the market.

Backstreet Boys are the latest band to announce residency at the Sphere in July
90s Boyband Backstreet Boys are back with a massive tour and part of that includes a long residency at the Las Vegas Sphere with a total of 18 shows set to take place there in the summer.
The 18 date run stretches across July and August with the dates confirmed as: July 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27 and August 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17.
"Into the Millennium" will see the band perform hits from their third studio album 'Millennium' as well as all of their classics for their adoring fans.

7 artists have had residencies confirmed at the iconic venue so far
So far we've seen 7 different musical acts have residencies at the Vegas Sphere with U2 the first and so far longest to do so with 40 dates.
Dead & Company will surpass that total number as they come back for a second time for an 18 date residency to add to their 30 dates played back in 2024.
Phish had the shortest residency at the venue so far with just a total of 4 dates.
