Andy Burnham is still the 5/1 favourite to be the next Labour Leader after Sir Keir Starmer, who remains in his role after the Beergate scandal.

Bookmakers feel that Burnham has the best chance of being the next leader, with an implied probability of 18.18% that he gets the role next.

Correct Odds As Of July 2022

Wes Streeting backed into 6/1 from 10/1 to be Keir Starmer's eventual replacement

Since the start of May there has been significant support for Wes Streeting to be the next Labour leader with his odds shortening from 10/1 to 6/1.

Wes Streeting is the Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and an 'avalanche of betting support' saw his odds tumble according to our story back in May.

Streeting has remained behind Burnham though in the betting market and it may well be a two horse race between the pair when it eventually comes to it.

Burnham's popularity has improved massively in recent years through his role as the Mayor of Greater Manchester.

Next Prime Minster odds available after Boris Johnson's resignation

Penny Mordaunt is 7/2 to be the Next UK Prime Minister just behind Rishi Sunak who remains the bookies favourite to take over from Boris Johnson next.

Sunak became favourite in the next Conservative leader betting market as well as the next Prime Minister market after his resignation last week.

Boris Johnson is still the Prime Minister of the UK with September looking like his most popular exit date.

It's odds of 1/4 that Johnson leaves his post in September with an 80% chance of that happening according to bookmakers.

Penny Mordaunt stays 7/2 in the Next Prime Minister market with Rishi Sunak now into favourite for the role after his resignation last week. Boris Johnson is expected to stay on for another couple of months at least.
