Irish actor Paul Mescal now the bookies favourite to play James Bond

Paul Mescal has now moved into betting favourite to be the next James Bond after bookmakers slashed his odds on Monday to have a new favourite for the first time in a year.

Mescal had slowly moved in the betting market over the past week with his odds shortening day-by-day and now finds himself at the top of the market at 6/4 for the iconic role.

OLBG reported back in September that the betting market for the next Bond had dramatically reopened with no reports on the role being given to anyone as of yet.

William Hill now give an implied probability of 40% that Mescal is the next Bond with the Irish actor currently starring in one of the biggest films at the Box Office, Gladiator 2.

Paul Mescal has now shortened into favourite to be the next James Bond after bookies sensationally slashed his odds on Monday morning! The Irish actor, currently starring in Gladiator 2, is now top of the betting market for the iconic role as producers still look for their leading man!

Former favourite Aaron Taylor-Johnson drifts out in the market

Aaron Taylor-Johnson was the former market leader to be the next James Bond but has now drifted out to second favourite behind Mescal with bookies changing the odds right around.

Taylor-Johnson was reported by many news sources to have had screen tests with producers for the role but that has all gone quiet with no reports around him being Bond for months.

The market now sees him out to 7/4 to play the role in which he was once odds-on for with all eyes on who will replace Daniel Craig as James Bond.

Edward Berger still favourite to direct the next Bond movie

Oscar-nominated director Edward Berger remains the market leader to be the next James Bond director with odds still being offered on the position.

Steve McQueen has been the big mover in the market with bookmakers putting him just behind Berger in the odds list and it looks to be an open looking market.

Berger's last movie was "All Quiet on the Western Front" which earned 9 nominations and 4 wins including Best International Film.
