Alex Neil is the 3/1 favourite to be the next Hearts manager

Betting odds are now offered on who will be the next Hearts manager after Steven Naismith was dismissed from the role following an 8 game losing run early in their season.

Scottish manager Alex Neil is the early favourite to get the role next with UK Betting Sites placing him at 3/1 in the betting market to take over from the departing Naismith.

Neil has been without a job in football management since being sacked by Stoke City back in December 2023 and now could be the best time for him to head back into management.

The latest betting odds say there's a 25% implied probability of Neil being the next manager of the Jam Tarts with the club likely looking to make a swift appointment.

Steven Naismith was sacked as Hearts boss after losing their last 8 games in all competitions

Hearts announced the sacking of Steven Naismith on Sunday after a run of eight successive defeats across all competitions sees them sit rock bottom of the Scottish Premiership.

Naismith took over Hearts back in April 2023 as Interim boss before getting the job permanently and he saw his side finish in third place in the Premiership last season.

The club gave him a new contract just six weeks ago but ever since that new deal the club has lost every single match which has seen them decide to sack him.

Hearts still 28/1 to finish bottom despite terrible start to season

Despite their miserable start to the Scottish Premiership season which sees them at the bottom of the table with just 1 point gained this season, bookies still have Hearts out at 28/1 to finish bottom of the league.

St Johnstone are the 11/10 favourites to end the season at the foot of the table and they're giving the most likely chance of doing so according to the latest market.

Hearts are odds-on at 4/5 to finish in the Top 6 still with bookies expecting whoever comes in to turn their form around for the rest of the campaign.
