Pep Guardiola's odds to become next England manager slashed after reports linked the FA with interest

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is now just 10/1 with bookmakers to take over as the next England Manager following reports earlier this week that suggest the FA see him as a main candidate.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that Gareth Southgate may well leave his role after the European Championships next year and that the FA are now looking for a suitable replacement.

The 'dream' according to that report for some at the FA is Pep Guardiola and he is an option that FA officials are exploring with his deal at City running out in 2025.

Paddy Power have now cut Guardiola's odds to just 10/1 to become next England boss as the betting market chops and changes around yet again for Southgate's replacement.

Next England Manager Odds Probability
Graham Potter
6/1 14.3%
Eddie Howe
15/2 11.8%
Lee Carsley 9/1 10.0%
Pep Guardiola 10/1 9.1%
Steve Cooper
11/1 8.3%

Graham Potter is the betting favourite to take over after Gareth Southgate leaves the role

Graham Potter is the favourite in the betting market to become the next England boss after replacing Lee Carsley at the top of the market in recent weeks.

Potter has recently been in the news after rejecting the Lyon manager's job just five months after leaving Chelsea saying it wasn't the right time for him to go there.

The English boss could well be waiting for Southgate's eventual departure rather than moving to a club position for the foreseeable and his odds now give him a 14% chance of taking over.
