Pep Guardiola moves alongside Graham Potter at 5/1 to become next England manager

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is now joint favourite with bookmakers at 5/1 to become the next England manager after reports back in September that the FA could go for him next.

Guardiola's City deal runs out in 2025 which could well be the best time for him to take over with a year to prepare for the World Cup with reports in the Daily Mail saying he would be the dream appointment at the FA.

The latest betting odds from BetVictor suggest there's a 16% chance that Guardiola takes over as the England boss next with the betting market putting him alongside Graham Potter to take over.

Potter has been without a club since leaving Chelsea earlier this year and it could well be that he is biding his time before being the man to replace Southgate in the England hotseat next.

Gareth Southgate could stay on as manager after Euro 2024

Current England manager Gareth Southgate could stay beyond the Euro 2024 tournament which takes place next with the 2026 World Cup also potentially on the cards for the current boss.

England winning the Euros may make up Southgate's mind to stay on in the role and lead the team into the 2026 World Cup too with his current contract set to expire after the Euros.

Southgate's current contract reportedly expires at the end of 2024 with those extra 6 months a "cooling-off" period according to reports from the Daily Mirror.

England are the outright favourites to win Euro 2024 according to latest odds

England are now the clear favourites to win the European Championships next year with bookies putting them clear at the top of the betting market at 4/1.

France are the main rivals for England with their odds just below at 9/2, with the hosts Germany wrapping up the top three of the betting at 6/1.

The 2024 Euros takes place in Germany next Summer with England striker Harry Kane preparing well for the tournament as the striker of Bayern Munich.
