Graham Potter is favourite to be the next England manager

Betting remains available with UK Betting Sites on who will be the next England manager with all eyes on the market following Gareth Southgate's resignation on Tuesday morning.

Southgate stepped down from the managerial role after a second European Championship final defeat in-a-row, with the Three Lions beaten 2-1 by Spain on Sunday night.

The former England manager led his country for 102 games as manager across 8 years and his contract was due to expire later this year but he has stepped down before that happened.

Paddy Power now have full odds up for who will take over from Southgate next with former Brighton and Chelsea manager Graham Potter the 2/1 favourite.

Potter has been without a role since leaving Chelsea in April 2023 and has consistently been in and around the top of the betting market to be the next England manager.

Gareth Southgate left his role as England manager on Tuesday

Gareth Southgate and the FA announced on Tuesday morning that the England manager had resigned from the role following his side's 2-1 defeat to Spain.

"It has meant everything to me, and I have given it my all. But it’s time for change, and for a new chapter," Southgate said in a statement released on Tuesday.

The Euro 2024 campaign had constantly been marred with England supporters giving him and the team abuse, with the 0-0 draw against Slovenia even seeing plastic cups thrown at Southgate after full-time.
