Robert Jenrick Emerges as Favourite to Replace Kemi Badenoch

The betting market for the next Conservative Party leader has shifted once again, with Robert Jenrick now leading the way at 6/5 with UK Betting Sites amid reports that Kemi Badenoch is unpopular amongst the Tories.

Jenrick, who previously served as Minister of State for Immigration, appears to be gaining momentum within the party, with rivals and political commentators tipping him as the likely successor.

Notably, Reform UK leadeer Nigel Farage publicly stated in April that Jenrick is “clearly shaping himself up” for the leadership role.

Although Jenrick lost out to Badenoch during the leadership contest last November, recent murmurs from Westminster suggest he remains a serious contender to take over should a vacancy arise.

William Hill's latest betting market gives an implied probability of 45.5% that Jenrick will be the next leader of the Conservative Party.

What the expert says...
Robert Jenrick’s leadership odds shortening to 6/5 suggests a real shift in sentiment among political punters. With Kemi Badenoch's leadership increasingly under scrutiny, the Tory hierarchy may already be eyeing Jenrick as her replacement.

Momentum Building Behind Jenrick

With the Conservative Party facing growing internal unrest and electoral pressure from Reform UK, a leadership reshuffle could be looming.

Jenrick's recent public statements on immigration and economic reform have struck a chord with the party's right wing, potentially positioning him as the unity candidate needed in a post-Badenoch era.

James Cleverly, former Home Secretary, sits second in the market at 7/2 while Boris Johnson re-enters the frame at 7/1.
