Michael Appleton is now 4/6 to become the next Charlton Athletic manager
Former Blackpool manager Michael Appleton is now odds-on with bookmakers at 4/6 to become the next Charlton manager with reports of an interview taking place.
London News stated that Appleton was interviewed last week for the vacant role and this has seen bookmakers shorten his odds from 6/1 into the heavy favourite to get the job.
Dave Challinor moved into favourite last week after reports that Charlton were after the Stockport manager but he reportedly turned down the move after talks.
BetVictor now have Appleton and Danny Cowley as the top two in the betting market to take over at Charlton following Dean Holden's departure.

What the expert says..
Interim manager Jason Pearce is a 20/1 outsider for full-time role
Former Charlton centre-back Jason Pearce has been put in charge as the current interim manager of the club but his odds are out to 20/1 for him to get the role full-time.
Pearce led his side to victory against Fleetwood Town on Saturday before a 4-3 loss away at Crawley Town in the EFL Trophy Group Stages.
The former player made 175 appearances for the Addicks in a six-year spell between 2016 and 2022 and will continue as interim until the club find a suitable manager to take over.
