Sam Allardyce is the new favourite to take over at Cardiff despite seemingly ruling himself out of running

Sam Allardyce is the latest favourite with bookies to be the next Cardiff manager with his odds tumbling down to just 3/1 to take over the Welsh club next.

'Big Sam' has seemingly ruled himself out of the job though on the 'No Tippy Tappy Football' podcast, saying: "I keep getting these calls. I'm not going to Cardiff and I haven't been approached by Cardiff to even have a conversation with them".

Despite adding that he is "not going down to Wales and I'm staying here in the north-west" Allardyce is 3/1 with BetVictor to become the next Cardiff manager.

Next Cardiff Manager Odds Probability
Sam Allardyce 3/1 25.0%
Sabri Lamouchi 5/1 16.7%
Valerien Ismael 8/1 11.1%
Dean Smith 8/1 11.1%
Neil Warnock 8/1 11.1%

Former Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi has emerged as second favourite in the market to be the next Cardiff manager.

Valerien Ismael is third favourite with experience as Barnsley and West Brom manager with experience in the Championship wanted by Cardiff bosses.

Big Sam Allardyce is now the betting favourite to be the next Cardiff manager despite him seemingly ruling himself out of the job earlier this week! Bookies give him a 25% chance of taking over the vacant job next.

Neil Warnock was the 1/2 favourite with bookmakers last week but spoke about retirement

Neil Warnock was the shock favourite with bookmakers last week to be the next Cardiff manager after Mark Hudson's dismissal earlier this month.

The betting odds had seen him as the 1/2 favourite to take over at Cardiff again with reports floating around that a shock return was on the cards.

Warnock though ruled that out saying :"I've been mentioned with every job going at the moment. Listen I'm retired now. I'm enjoying doing podcasts, I did one last week with Steve Bruce".

Cardiff now 7/4 to be relegated this season

Cardiff are now as short as 7/4 to be relegated from the Championship as they currently sit three points from safety in the league.

Four clubs remain above Cardiff in the betting with Rotherham, Huddersfield, Blackpool and Wigan all shorter in the odds.

Bottom club Wigan are 2/7 to be relegated with their form getting worse since Kolo Toure took over as manager.

Cardiff's odds have shortened from 3/1 in the past week after their 1-0 loss at home to Millwall last weekend.

Cardiff are now 7/4 to be relegated from the Championship after Saturday's loss at home to Millwall saw their odds drop from 3/1 to go down!
