Three manager's lead the way in the betting market to take over at Cambridge United next

Betting is now available on who will be the next Cambridge United manager with bookmakers putting three candidates alongside each other in the market.

Michael Duff, Gary Rowett and Barry Corr all share favouritism at the top of the betting market with odds of 6/1 to take over at Cambridge next with no solid candidate standing out so far.

Neil Harris left Cambridge earlier this week to make a shock return to Millwall after only being appointed manager of United back in December and now the board have a big decision to make about his replacement sooner than they thought.

Corr was assistant head coach to Harris and he will take over Cambridge temporarily, supported by Kevin Betsy, for their game against Peterborough this weekend with BetVictor having Corr as one of those three favourites.

Neil Harris departed Cambridge to return to Millwall

Neil Harris left Cambridge earlier this week after just two months in charge of the club to return to Millwall where he had previously spent 4 years as manager.

Harris has now managed in three different EFL divisions this season with his previous spells at League Two Gillingham and in League One with Cambridge.

Cambridge confirmed that the club had been paid compensation by Millwall for Harris and may use this to pay compensation for their next manager.

Cambridge are 5/1 to be relegated from League One this season

Cambridge are now 5/1 to be relegated from League One at the end of the season and although those odds seem fairly short, it still puts them as 9th favourites in the market to go down.

Carlisle and Fleetwood Town are both heavy favourites to be relegated at 1/100 and 1/20 but with four teams relegated from League One it leaves the other two spots wide open.

Cambridge currently sit in 17th place in League One and are six points off 21st place Cheltenham Town therefore six points off the relegation zone.
