Nice manager Francesco Farioli is now 2/1 in the betting market to take over at Brighton next

Bookies have now slashed Nice manager Francesco Farioli's odds of becoming the next Brighton Manager from 8/1 into just 2/1 after a surge of bets for the Italian in the past few hours.

35-year-old Farioli has been the Nice manager since June 2023 and despite reports earlier this month linking him with the Ajax job it now looks increasingly likely he could move to Brighton this summer.

BetVictor's latest betting odds put Farioli as the second favourite in the betting market with the latest odds giving an implied probability of 33.3% that he gets the job next.

Betfair reported on Tuesday morning that 7 of the last 10 bets on their betting market for the next Brighton manager have been on Farioli, with Kieran McKenna, and Liam Rosenior also bet on.

Roberto De Zerbi left the club earlier this week after joining back in September 2022

Saturday evening saw the shock announcement that Roberto De Zerbi will leave Brighton once the season ended and the Seagulls finished their campaign with a 2-0 loss at home to Man United.

De Zerbi had constantly been linked with a whole host of jobs in the past 6 months but now he's left Brighton he told the BBC that no one had offered him anything.

The Italian manager also said that he'd hope to work in the Premier League once again and it may well be that we see him at another club down the line.
