  • Some reports suggest though that Wilder is not in consideration for the job
  • Current caretaker boss Gary O'Neil remains 6/4 to take over permanently

Chris Wilder is the 1/2 favourite to be the next Bournemouth manager

Bournemouth are still without a permanent manager and bookies have now made Chris Wilder the 1/2 favourite to get the job.

Scott Parker was dismissed back in August and since then Gary O'Neil has been the caretaker manager with the Cherries playing well under his guidance.

BetVictor though have made Wilder the 1/2 favourite to be the Next Bournemouth Manager with O'Neil just behind him at 6/4.

Next Bournemouth Manager Odds Probability
Chris Wilder 1/2 66.7%
Gary O'Neil 6/4 40.0%
Marcelo Bielsa 16/1 5.9%
Sean Dyche 16/1 5.9%

Marcelo Bielsa and Sean Dyche are the joint third favourites in the betting market at 16/1 with both managers big names in the betting.

Bournemouth are reportedly on the brink of a takeover and it may mean that any new owner coming in will want his own man in charge.

Chris Wilder is the new betting favourite to take over as Bournemouth manager at 1/2 despite reports suggesting he's not in the running for the job.

Some reports suggest though that Wilder is not in consideration for the job

Reports on Twitter this afternoon have hinted that Chris Wilder isn't even in the running for the vacant Bournemouth job.

Current Middlesbrough boss Wilder has been backed right in to odds on to takeover but broadcaster Kris Temple says that he's not on the shortlist.

"Despite the eye-catching market move, I can confidently report that Chris Wilder is not on the #AFCB shortlist," tweeted Temple on Monday.

Current caretaker boss Gary O'Neil remains 6/4 to take over permanently

Gary O'Neil has been in caretaker charge at Bournemouth since Scott Parker was dismissed and has yet to lose as manager.

O'Neil has 1 win and 2 draws in his 3 games in charge of the Cherries and has even been nominated for the September Manager of the Month award.

This may cause the potential new owners to stick by O'Neil for the time being as the players are clearly happy under the manager.

Bookies though give him a 40% chance of being the next permanent manager of Bournemouth.

Gary O'Neil is 6/4 to get the Bournemouth job permanently after an impressive start to his caretaker reign has yet to see his side lose.
