Andy Whing early favourite for the vacant Barrow job

Solihull Moor manager Andy Whing is the favourite with UK Betting Sites to be the next Barrow manager with the club now looking for a new man to take them forward.

Barrow sacked boss Stephen Clemence on Saturday hours after their 2-0 loss to Swindon after just eight months in charge of the club.

The Bluebirds were knocked out of the third round of the Carabao Cup by Chelsea earlier this season but they've won just once in the league since the start of October and are five games without victory.

BetVictor's latest betting odds have put Whing as the 1/2 favourite to take over at Barrow next with the non-league manager linked with a number of Football League clubs in recent weeks.

Those odds suggest a 66.7% chance that Whing becomes the next Barrow manager with big names featuring behind him in the betting market.

Stephen Clemence was sacked as Barrow boss after Saturday's loss to Swindon

Barrow's poor run of form saw the club decide to relieve manager Stephen Clemence of his duties on Saturday evening.

Chairman Paul Hornby told fans in a statement on the club website, "Stephen has always conducted himself with great dignity and professionalism but unfortunately our recent extended run of poor results has led us to the decision that it was time to make a change."

No timeline has been reported as of yet for Barrow to make their next appointment but it's expected that they'll want to do so sooner rather than later.

Barrow 17th in League Two table and 8 points off relegation

Betting odds are still offered the League Two relegation battle with Barrow currently sitting in 17th place in the table after 25 games played.

That position gives them a healthy 8 point gap when it comes to safety but a further poor run of form could see them get closer and closer to the bottom two.

Bookies have Barrow at 50/1 to be relegated this season with Morecambe (2/5) and Carlisle (5/4) the two favourites in the current market.
