Hansi Flick now becomes the 2/1 favourite to take over at Barcelona

Betting is now open on who will be the next Barcelona manager with Xavi declaring that he will leave the club at the end of the season and OLBG are looking at the full contenders.

German manager Hansi Flick has moved into 2/1 favourite after reports from The Athletic that Barcelona have approached him to know his availability.

Those Athletic sources say that Flick hasn't been offered the job but the Spanish giants have decided to make contact with him to start the first stages of their search.

Barca president Joan Laporta has spoken highly of Flick and other German managers in the past which could be why he's so interested in signing him now.

BetVictor have now put Flick as the clear favourite in the betting market at 2/1 to take over at Barcelona next and the 58-year-old could well be the main man in the running.

Xavi announced that he will be leaving Barcelona at the end of the season

Barcelona legend Xavi is the current manager of the club, but he announced that he will be stepping down from his role as manager back in January.

Xavi will still be in charge until the end of the season and his reasoning was, “I am leaving because it’s been two-and-a-half-years on this role and the whole process of being the Barcelona manager is not worth it".

The next appointment will be a big one for Barcelona with the club struggling financially and it seems that anyone who comes in will need to but his backing behind the youth.

Barcelona are 10 points behind their fierce rivals Real Madrid in the La Liga table and sit in third place with Girona 5 points clear of them too.

This has seen Barca's odds for the La Liga title this year drift right out to 16/1 with Real Madrid unsurprisingly now 1/20 to win the league.

Girona were battling against all odds at the top of La Liga for a number of weeks but they've now since dropped off behind Real.
