Cristiano Ronaldo is now just 5/2 to join Sporting Lisbon this transfer window

Cristiano Ronaldo is now 4/9 with bookmakers to stay at Manchester United this Summer, coming in slightly from the 8/15 odds that he was to stay last week.

Ronaldo appeared in his first pre-season game of the season for United on Sunday, but left Old Trafford early after being subbed off in the 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano.

Ladbrokes have made Sporting Lisbon the favourite destination for Ronaldo if he was to leave Old Trafford, coming down from 18/1 last week to just 5/2.

Cristiano Ronaldo Next Club Odds Probability
Stay at Man Utd 4/9 69.2%
Sporting Lisbon 5/2 28.6%
Atletico Madrid 8/1 11.1%
Bayern Munich
12/1 7.7%

Sporting have been linked with Ronaldo again with the forward running out of options for the next step in his career.

Atletico Madrid were linked with the forward but their fans protested against the signing.

Ronaldo remains 4/9 to stay at Old Trafford this season

Cristiano Ronaldo is still favourite to stay at Old Trafford in this upcoming season despite seemingly wanting to leave Manchester United.

Reports suggest that Ronaldo will be happy to take a significant pay cut to leave United, with clubs unwilling to pay his £500k a week wages.

Ronaldo has never played in the Europa League in his career and that would change if he stayed at United this season with the club qualified for the competition.

Sporting Lisbon meanwhile have qualified for the Champions League and will be in the Group Stage of the competition automatically.

More Man Utd specials available ahead of the new season

Just last month, Betfair announced that United were the most backed team to win the Premier League on their site at odds of 25/1.

This came after United's 4-0 thrashing of Liverpool in their opening pre-season game a couple of weeks ago and it caused a surge in backers for the Reds to win the league.

This may well have changed since then though with the Reds having a poor end to pre-season with two draws and a loss in their last three games.

United will host Brighton at Old Trafford in the first Super Sunday of the season this weekend.

Man United are 25/1 to win the Premier League this season and they have been Betfair's most backed team to win the league more than Liverpool and Man City!
