Mateo Joseph is the 7/1 favourite to be the Top Goalscorer in the Championship this season
The 2024/25 Championship season kicks off on Friday night with two matches to sink your teeth into and betting sites are offering various outright markets ahead of the new campaign.
One of those popular markets to bet on is the Top Goalscorer with bookmakers offering odds on who will score the most goals in the league this season.
The Championship of course is one of the most competitive leagues there is, not just in England but across Europe, and this leads to some fantastic goalscorers playing in the league.
One of them is Leeds' Mateo Joseph who currently tops the betting market to score the most goals this season after impressing fans and pundits alike in the pre-season.
Joseph has scored four goals in pre-season and told The Athletic, "This is my season this year. I don’t want to sound too confident, but I can’t wait to prove it and for the season to start."
With such a level of confidence going into the new campaign it's no surprise that Bet365 have him above anyone else to finish as the top scorer with odds of 7/1 given.

What the expert says...
Middlesbrough's Emmanuel Latte Lath second favourite in market after scoring 16 goals last season
Emmanuel Latte Lath sits just behind Joseph in the betting market to win the Championship's Golden Boot this season and if last season's debut in the league is anything to go by you would think he has a decent chance.
Latte Lath scored 16 league goals last season including an impressive run of seven goals in six matches towards the end of the season which saw him crowned Championship Player of the Month for April.
Boro boss Michael Carrick will be looking for Latte Lath to replicate that form going into the new season with Middlesbrough's aim to go back to the Premier League after being relegated in 2017.

Championship 24/25 Betting Preview: Leeds are the early favourites to WIN the Championship this season with relegated sides Burnley and Luton following behind them!
Joseph's Leeds are the favourites to win the Championship
Leeds currently top the betting odds to win the Championship this season with the best football betting sites putting them well clear at the top of the market at 7/2.
Those odds see Leeds given a 22.2% chance of winning the Championship title with two of last season's relegated Premier League teams, Burnley and Luton, following behind them in the market.
If Mateo Joseph was to score the most goals this season you'd surely think that it would have fired his side to promotion at the very least with Leeds looking to be back in the Premier League next year.
