2026 Tour of Britain
The 2026 Tour of Britain route will be announced closer to the event. What we do know is that the tour is that the men's and women's races will both have five stages
This is an increase in the women's race, which only had four stages in 2025, while a reduction in the men's race, which had six stages, means that for the first team, both will be contested across equal stages.
The women's race will take place first, with the five days of action kicking off on the 19th of August, and then two weeks later, the men's race starts on the 2nd of September.
If you plan on having a bet on the outright winner or the daily stage markets, then be sure to give our Best Bookie for Betting on Cycling guide a read before you place any bets.

Tour of Britain Past Winners
There have only ever been three repeat winners of the Tour of Britain. The first to achieve this was the Norwegian Edvald Boasson Hagen, who won it in 2009 and then again six years later in 2015.
Dutchman Lars Boom won it in 2011 and then, like Hagen, won it again six years later in 2017, whilst Belgian Wout van Aert had a much shorter gap between wins, having won it in 2021 & 2023.
Romain Grégoire's win in 2025 moved the French on to four wins in the race and tied with the Dutch. Both the Belgians and the Brits have supplied three winners, whilst the only other country with multiple winners is Norway with two.

Women's Tour of Britain Past Winners
The women's Tour of Britain has proven a very competitive race. Since its introduction in 2014, we have had ten tours with a total of nine different winners.
The only person who has been able to win more than once is the Brit Lizzie Deignan, who won the 2016 edition (then named Lizzie Armitstead) and the 2019 edition.
Those two wins are the only to for Great Britain, the only other country to supply multiple wins is the Netherlands, which won with Marianne Vos (2014) and Demi Vollering (2021).
Nine of the ten winners were European riders; the only rider to buck the trend was American Coryn Rivera, who won the 2018 tour.
