A total of 10 Cricket nations comprising 15 players in each squad participated in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, these included the winning most nation Australia who were successful again. Surprisingly the West Indies, the first winners of the Cricket World Cup back in 1975 missed out on qualifying for the tournament.
Schedule
The first stage is a round robin where all 10 teams play each other once in a 50 Over game. It is 2 points for a win and 1 point apiece for a no result, the top four nations at the end of the Group Stage progress to the Semi-Finals (1st v 4th, 2nd v 3rd). If there is a tie for any group positions then the number of wins takes precedence followed by Net Run Rate and then head to head result.
