Well bred, won convincingly on debut and runs for a yard in form who go well at York. Lots of other positives including 2nd start, lay-off and jockey booking.

DAMYSUS is a Frankel-sired three year old of interest representing a top yard. His reappearance third in Group 3 company reads well and owned by Wathnan Racing potentially seen to best effect second-up he could be the value play.

There’s plenty of hope in his pedigree that he’ll get it, and he’s shaped as such on a number of occasions so far. He was handled very tenderly when getting no sort of run at Newcastle, barely getting shaken up in truth, and that certainly won’t be the case here. That looked like it happened all a bit too quick for him, and with a dam that won over this trip, and being related to a horse that got plenty further than this even, it’s clear the new trip should be up his street. He could be outclassed, but they think a lot of him, and I’m happy to give him a follow at the odds despite having some ground to make up with Wimbledon Hawkeye who had the better of him in the Royal Lodge.

Finished a credible 2 of 14 at Kempton last month and then won LTO Doncasterearlier thi smonth. Running off similar distance this time out but going up 6 classes is the big challenge.
