Escapologist made a winning debut for James Owen at Fakenham last February. He has only been placed once since, but fourth of 15 at Huntingdon last month was a decent run off his lowest-ever handicap mark. Down 2 lb here, with Sam Twiston-Davies riding, he looks a good each-way bet with four places on offer.

He ran well in his two bumper starts of 2025, with a 1st and 2nd at Kelso. He is yet to match that same level of form over hurdles, including when a disappointing odds-on favourite last time out. The combination of this trip, along with soft ground, will suit and he should run well on handicap debut.

Bright Legend looks sure to run better than last time, when on bottomless ground here over 2m four weeks ago. The longer trip today and better ground can bring out the best in the 6yo. His run three starts ago at Fontwell showed how much ability he has, and a reproduction of that effort here, off a whopping 12 lb lower mark, should see him bang there come the business end of the race today.

A Syd Hosie??'trained 6-year-old who has had 18 races over the hurdles, winning twice and finishing in the frame 9 times. He won last time out at Plumpton in a Class 4 handicap hurdle over 2m 4½f on soft going, ridden by today’s jockey Paddy Hanlon, claiming 5 lbs when leading 2 flights out to win by 6 lengths. He is back in a Class 4 handicap hurdle over 2m 4f and is racing off top weight, carrying a 6 lbs penalty. Since being fitted with a hood he has run well. The hood was left off on his last visit here at Wincanton in December when he ran below par, finishing 8th of 10 runners, beaten 14 lengths. Hood on today ??' has a decent each-way shout in this race.

Small each-way tip for this lightly raced 5yo who should have more to offer at some point in time. This is his first run at this 2m4f distance, all previous runs were at 2miles but, he has stayed on well in the latter part of those 2mile races so that does offer some encouragement he may get this extra 4 furlongs. A few horses in here who are likely to improve today, this horse could be one to improve.

It's early days for THE LONG WALK, but based on the evidence of the run at Market Rasen the run before last, he's got claims if matching that performance from the same mark here. He showed a bit of potential at the back end of last season and in a maiden at Warwick, and probably has the ability to get involved in handicaps sooner or later.

Is an 87 flat-rated horse over long distances, with wins and places at Class 2 last year. Decent hurdler with an excellent 2nd at Punchestown back in April, with 23 others behind. Can get among the four places.

Hello Fortune is still learning the ropes over hurdles. Last time he travelled okay before falling three out on debut. He also ran a good fourth in a maiden where he was staying on nicely after racing too keenly. This shows me that the Soldier of Fortune stamina in his pedigree should suit this 2m4f trip today.
