Saisons D'Or has won 6 of his 50 starts and been placed on 15 other occasions. The veteran won this race last year and also won at Catterick in August. He had shown little in his next five starts but returned to the same mark as the win here last year. He finished 4th of 10 here three weeks ago, beaten just under two lengths. He is down another 2 lbs here to 59 and has only once raced off a lower mark, when runner-up at Newcastle in February 2024. Off this mark he should go well and looks like a good each-way bet with four places on offer.

Kitzbuhel has won 6 of his 11 starts, with 3 of those wins coming in his 4 starts over fences. He won at Punchestown in November and then stepped up to Grade 1 level at Kempton on Boxing Day. He unseated Paul Townend at Sandown on his next start but was back to his best at Cheltenham when outstaying Final Demand to win the Brown Advisory. A repeat of that, with a clear round, would make him very difficult to beat.
