Straight Ahead has only had two runs to sixth, and they have both been in big money C2's, with the latest run last month being a bit further away. But I put that down to the GS going, and I think today's GF and dropping to a more realistic C5 could see a result, especially with Sam James in the saddle this time, who seems to be on a bit of a roll of late. The two favorites here are short, rightly so, but the draw bias favors the ones drawn higher at Thirsk, as they are on the wing in going for something in the middle. The high draws don't have spectacular early form, and we know this yard can ready one.

Michael Dods has 56 wins out of 502 in 2yo races of this type and 156 out of 502 placed since 2012. With experience under her belt and in receipt of up to 12lb from most of her rivals, she could go well under Connor Beasley.
