4:10 Sandown Tips

Has run at the highest level but has been sent off pushing the pace for stablemate Field of Gold in the Irish 2000 Guineas and St James's Palace. Has some solid form before that and can get running in his own right here in a race that won't take much winning.

Cash is a 6-year-old gelding trained by David Simcock. 0-9 since debut win but has a few pieces of very useful form at Sandown. He finished 2/6 in April '22 behind Sandown specialist Westover, 2/2 win, beaten just a short head over today's course and distance under Jamie Spencer. He has also finished 3/8 at Sandown three starts back in a listed race, beaten just 3/4 length over an inadequate mile behind Skellet (received 9lb), posting a near career-high RPR of 110 (112) again under Jamie Spencer, who retains the ride today. If Cash repeats any of that form today, he should go very, very close, so expect a late rattle home in the closing stages.

Caviar Heights is making his return for his new yard in a weak race. Haggas can get horses ready for their first start, and this runner is definitely better than this bunch if close to 100%.

Checkandchallenge is in stall 4 with a mark of 110, which looks fair, but he has not won for 20 months and has patchy form. He was 9th 17 days ago, and his best form over 1 mile to 10, including here, suggests he can compete and challenge these. He has a 10% win rate at this distance and a 17.4% place rate in this class but no wins on similar going. Trained by William Knight and ridden by Callum Shepherd, stall 4 is decent for a forward-tracking ride. The pace should be solid, and he will need to settle midfield and make a late push. He has a good chance if regaining some form.

This horse has run twice at Sandown from 31 runs in total. The two times he has run here have been in this race, and he has been 1st and 2nd respectively. It seems to me that it's worth a shot that this record will be enhanced today.
