I can't look past the chances of the 3yo filly Pearl Of Windsor, who has run twice at Sandown, winning a maiden as a 2yo over CD on today's good ground and finished 4/7 last time out over today's CD in a listed race, beaten 1.75l, posting a career-high RPR of 94. She clearly likes Sandown's stiff uphill finish. She also represents a yard in Conrad Allen, a trainer in a rich vein of form, winning with his last three runners at 11-2, 15-2, and 15-2. She is ridden by one of the hottest jockeys right now, David Egan, who has ridden 12/56 winners and won the last four races at Wolverhampton the other night at 6-1, 8-1, 18-1, and 12-1. If all this comes together today, Pearl Of Windsor will be extremely difficult to beat today off 8st 10lb.

Lexington Blitz is in stall 4 with a mark of 87, which looks fair given his recent solid runs. He was 8th 14 days ago in a big 24-runner handicap at Ascot, where he made too much use of himself early on. His previous run saw a strong second in a valuable Epsom contest, showing his ability. He has a 28.5% win and place rate over this distance and on similar going. Trained by Richard Cowell and ridden by Sam Levey, stall 4 suits his style, allowing him to track the pace comfortably. With a decent tempo expected, he looks a win chance if settling better and getting a smoother run this time.

I am willing to give GOLD STAR HERO another chance after having to race from a poor high draw at Chester on seasonal debut in May. Then raced on another quirky track at Epsom last time out, getting outpaced down the hill but staying on well towards the end of the contest. The uphill finish on the more conventional Sandown track should suit better.
