One win thus far on soft ground at Bath, but went close a couple of times this year on the all-weather. A return to a more fancied trip here looks a fine option.

3yo gelding My Mate Kev showed some nice improvement lto in his 2nd hc run when 3rd at Doncaster. This was his first run on faster turf ground and he seemed to like it. Should make another step forward here and be in the mix.

A good each way proposition with the extra fourth place being paid. Won in a class six event last time out with the same jockey on board. Stable in form, sire has an average strike rate on the turf.

The model I run suggests Bow Street can win this race. Bow Street looks like one of the outsiders here in the early market. Bow Street lines up with the highest RPR of the field, the second lowest official ranking, and therefore the second lowest weight to carry around this 6f round trip. Stall 10 is an awkward draw. Has been a winner before at this distance and looks to get back in form here.

Marco Ghiani to ride this one and up to making presence felt at reasonable odds too. Jockey has won on him before and should appreciate the underfoot conditions and the distance.

ALASHOS has been a little off-color the last two times but still looks well-handicapped and could be a danger if bouncing back. Will likely be in the thick of it early doors, which can help here at Newmarket, and could be weighted to stick around. Going and grade all fine, showed a fair bit in debut season, and might have more to offer at some stage.

I’m with Rokuni in the 17:15 at Newmarket. Trained by Christine Dunnett, this 3-year-old got off the mark at Brighton last year, winning a maiden off a rating of 76. Today, he runs off just 66 ??' a full 10lb lower ??' which makes him look dangerously well-handicapped. While he’s yet to find his groove this season, he’s been running in decent enough company, and this drop in grade and weight could be just what he needs. The return to turf might help too, and the straight 6f at Newmarket could play to his strengths. Kieran O’Neill is back on board, and if Rokuni can bounce anywhere near his Brighton-winning form, he’s got every chance of going close. Looks a solid each-way shout at the price.

Going to take a chance with this one, especially as there are four places on offer. He has managed a third and a fourth in his last three races, and I will look to that form for today's race.
