6:35 Newbury Tips

Lightly raced 7 year old who has run well in two starts this season at Windsor and over course and distance latest after returning from a year off. Unlikely to be far away.

No extra inside the final half a furlong over 7 furlongs in a Class 4 here last week. The drop in trip and ease in grade to Class 5 are of immediate appeal. The first-time cheekpieces are of further appeal, and remaining on the same mark but with Jack Dace taking the ride today and claiming a 7-pound allowance ticks all the boxes for me.

The Bitter Moose is a two-time winner on the AW over 7f and 0-15 on turf but showed that could change very soon. Finished 2/11, beaten a length by stablemate Spanish Star (9th win ridden by David Probert)!over CD, posting a career-high turf RPR of 77under a notable jockey booking in Jim Crowley. David Probert rides, and he has picked up 44 winners for Patrick Chaminngs, making a good combination.

It might not have been the hottest race that this horse won last time out but she's only been raised 2lb, gets the same trip and ground, and she was always holding on to beat the hot favourite, so I don't see why she can't go very close here. That was Rob Hornby's first ride on the horse this year and he keeps the ride. The trainer couldn't be any hotter with 6 of his last 12 going in and this one is a couple of points bigger than I was expecting.

Always best to get on the horses of this type of stable when they hit form. The trainer has his horses firing at the moment, and this one won in impressive style last time out.

Impressive winner at Windsor after a few months off before a close 2nd at Nottingham just 9 days later (front two well clear). Raised another 3 lbs here but somewhat negated by Taryn Langley's claim. She has a good record at this track as well as for the yard, and Monsieur Patat's form over a straight 6f is extremely consistent.

Mammy has not won on turf yet. Did well when second to a hat-trick winner last time out on GF and goes again off the same mark. Worth an EW 4P.

Sioux Warrior has been running well after two unplaced efforts, coming second at Nottingham before winning at Brighton over 5 1/2 furlongs, beating Pop Dancer. He then finished third the last twice and was staying on when behind Level Up at Leicester, giving the winner nine pounds. Six furlongs along with good to firm ground, with Tyler Heard having the ride, could see the son of Sioux National running a big race here.

A speculative each way is chanced upon the much-raced Sisters In The Sky on what will be only his second Newbury start in a sixty-eight race career.
