5yo gelding Match Play is on a really handy mark 9lbs below his last winning mark from last August. Was a good 3rd of 10 lto and has won over C&D also off a 9lb higher mark in the beginning of his career. Should be in the mix.

On this trainer/jockey combo later on in the evening, and I'll back them at the start as WOOHOO looks well-weighted and ready to be winning soon. Took a big stride forward last time out and will be there or thereabouts here. Stable in form too, and this one is given lengthy consideration.

The handicapper has given Chester Le Streak a chance here. He was winning off 50 two years ago then changed yards and took 2024 off. The new yard has had 3 runs to find his strengths and the betting suggests they expect a much improved run today off 45.

It's hard to ignore anything that Ruth Carr sends to the racecourse at the moment as her string are in rude health. He might have finished closer than he did when second here just under a fortnight ago after missing the break. He still finished well clear of the rest, which suggests he's on good terms with himself. This isn't a particularly strong race, and I think Newyorkstateofmind is the one.

Returned last month and may have needed that after a decent 2024 where he won at a lower mark than today's. Course and distance runner.
