He won a 25 runner maiden race on his return during April and that form is solid. He has a good low draw and could be better than his current 90 rating.

Go Rimbaud is a progressive 3-year-old from the top Gosden yard, trained to improve, and now wearing cheekpieces for the first time to sharpen focus ahead of this handicap debut on turf.

Didn't impress at York last time when too keen early on. Has form on this course and looks well drawn today. Must hold every chance here.

The final selection is another who appeals on profile rather than simply market position. He travels kindly, usually races in the ideal stalking position and still looks open to improvement. In a competitive handicap where luck in running is always important, he's the type who should get every chance if things fall his way.

Zennor Storm won twice last year but has been disappointing this season, so the yard had him gelded before his last run. Though he will certainly need to improve on this season's performances, it is more than likely he will. Worth chancing each-way on the Haggas runner.

Abundant finished a close 3rd over course and distance in June and has run 3rd again since and could go close again off his current mark of 80 in first time cheekpieces.

Wild Thoughts won four in a row in April and May and is worth considering at this price despite running poorly last time. His first win at Redcar in April was off 56, and he was 23 lbs higher when winning at Windsor in May. He was runner-up at Carlisle off another 7 lbs rise. He was only 7th of 8 at Newmarket last time off 89, but there was an excuse as he was impeded and carried left leaving the stalls. Off the same mark and with cheek pieces left on, he is worth a small EW bet at these odds with five places on offer.

Mr Seagull looks like an interesting each-way contender in the 5.55 at Goodwood. Trainer Hugo Palmer has suggested the horse should be well suited by the race, and if he can overcome a slightly awkward draw, he's expected to run a big race. In such a competitive handicap, a smooth passage could see Mr Seagull finishing strongly and going very close.

With odds at 50/1, this 3-year-old might surprise, by finishing in the top spots. Trainer Oli Rix has labeled the 1m race as tailor-made, and since he has triumphed over this trip, a comeback with jockey Ray Dawson is certainly within reach.

AQUA BEAR seemed to enjoy the eight furlong trip the run before last and showed a bit of promise at a longer trip so is considered back up at this distance here. Raced well from higher in the handicap at Ascot earlier in the season and that was also in a tastyish looking class two, so could be able to get involved in thie company.
