Presumably had issues as he has been off since finishing 5th in the Ebor in August. Was being aimed at the Cesarewitch but missed that event. First run since. Worth an each-way bet.

Was a winner at Cork on debut in August and has placed in 3 of 4 races since. Likely to go well again and holds at least an each-way chance.

Apercu won two competitive handicaps this year, both over ten furlongs. She is now being upped in trip, and further progress is expected.

Sea The Boss is a 4-year-old filly trained by Mrs. John Harrington. She is 2/8 on turf and rated 97, having been rated as high as 101. She is a winner on today's yielding ground and a Group 3 winner at Naas, beating Madam Celeste by a neck, who won a listed race on her last start. Sea The Boss has not been at her best year-to-date, beaten 6 lengths in a listed race on her seasonal reappearance behind Bubblegum at Cork, finishing 7/10. She then finished 6/10 in a Group 3 last time out, with Bubblegum only 1/2 length ahead so she may be coming to hand. Sea The Boss has an impeccable pedigree, being sired by Sea The Moon, rated 122, a three-time Group winner and a winner of the German Derby. Sea The Boss sports first-time cheekpieces today, and Mrs. John Harrington has landed 43 winners in first-time cheekpieces, the last of which won at 50-1 in the Saratoga Special at Ayr, posting an improvement of some 20 pounds. If Sea The Boss takes to the new headgear, we could see a vastly different horse today.

Soft Winds is in stall 2 with a mark of 108, which looks fair for a steadily improving filly. She was fourth in the Group 3 Munster Oaks Stakes at Cork last time, beaten 5 lengths, which tells me she can compete at a high level. Trainer Joseph Patrick O'Brien and jockey Ryan P Whelan have 18 runs together with an 11% win rate and 28% place rate. She has won twice on similar going, which suits today, and handles this class well. Stall 2 is good for her as she likes to race prominently, and with a solid pace expected, she should get a nice tow into the race. The trainer has a strong record in this race, making her a strong each-way chance despite the tough field.
