4:30 Galway Tips

This high-class six-year-old was a highly regarded prospect for the premier novice hurdles in the spring, performing creditably at both the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals. Stripping significantly sharper for a seasonal break, he enters handicap ranks for the first time on a highly dangerous mark and possesses the gears to exploit this commercial good ground.

Grade 1 winner looks really well treated here. Looks the pick of the Mullins entries. Can go really well in this big competitive handicap.

He has run well in all three of his starts this year, with a 5th in the Morebattle at Kelso, a 2nd in the Grade 3 Swinton Hurdle, and he was first past the post at the Aintree Festival but was disqualified for whip usage. He can continue his solid record today.

Putapoundinthejar comes from a yard that won the big one here on Tuesday night. They have won this race in the past, so will know what is needed. The selection won at Bellewstown last time and is in here off a lovely low weight and can run a big one.

These connections never light one getting away and Pururhandstogether was 4/1 fav when only 10th in this race last year. Subsequently finished 2nd in a Listed hurdle at Listowel showing that the ability is unquestioned and he arrives here 1lb lower after a disappointing spring. The yard are masters at targeting these big pots and are in strong form as we've already seen at Galway this week.

Though Solness is better known as a high-class chaser, he returns to hurdling on what looks a decent mark. With the yard going well at present, he could well be good enough to have a say in the finish.

Looks primed to repeat last year's win in this race, with the jockey claiming 5lbs just 2lbs above last year and arrives in great form winning the Bar 1 hurdle @Cork beating Absurde before winning a flat conditional race beating a useful yardstick.

Win over this trip last time out after a run of defeats, tounge tie stays on and if having the same effect as in last run can be a big player in this open looking race

A decent run on the flat here earlier this week finishing fifth of twenty. That speed should be useful in this return to hurdles for the first time since a placed effort at this course last year from one pound lower. Danny Mullins takes the ride and could run into the places.

Under the guidance of Willie Mullins, this 4-year-old has demonstrated impressive progress over hurdles recently securing victories at Limerick and Punchestown. Even in a tough competition, his agile jumping offers promising each-way prospects at odds of 16/1.

Ragmans Corner has won 5 of his 28 starts including 4 times over hurdles. He has a good record here at Galway having been placed at this meeting in 2024 and twice here last here in addition to winning a handicap hurdle here in October 24. He won his only start over hurdles this year at Killarney in May and was far from disgraced when a staying on 8th at Curragh. He is 5lbs higher than his Killarney win but looks likely to go well again and is a good EW bet with 5 places on offer

Too Bossy For Us is the outside threat, but Too Bossy For Us is the tip because her consistency gives her the clearest winning chance in this race.

He may have only won one of his four starts over hurdles, but his last two were in Grade 1 company where he wasn't disgraced by any means. This is a good drop in class today, and he can run very close if he produces similar runs to his last two races.

With 5 places up for grabs in this race I am going to take a chance on Casheldale Lad who has won 2 of the last 3 races and being fresh from a break should have a decent chance.

Kai Lung could be a lively outsider in the 4.30 Galway Hurdle. Willie Mullins knows exactly what it takes to win this race, and Kai Lung shaped with promise when staying on for third on his latest start. Off a light weight and with scope for further improvement, he has the profile to outrun his odds if getting into a good rhythm in this fiercely competitive handicap.

Royal Hollow looks overpriced at 40 to 1 he has been running on the flat as well as over hurdles and is in decent form in both codes and carries just ten stone with Danny McMenamin over to take the ride.
