Q: Was the Guitar Hero game an inspiration for Guitar Quest?
OP: “As a Game Product Owner, you can find inspiration in almost anything. If you really try, you can probably turn most things into a slot game.
The funny thing is that Guitar Quest actually didn’t start as a guitar game at all. The original idea was a guy flying around in a jetpack collecting wins and fuel. Then it evolved into a rocket launch concept because it fit the portrait format better.
And then one morning the guitar idea just came to me, and it immediately clicked.”
Q: With so many music-themed slots available, how is Guitar Quest different?
OP: “For me, Guitar Quest is first and foremost a great slot game that just happens to also have incredible music.
The music, presentation, and overall energy help elevate the experience, but the real strength comes from the gameplay itself. The player control, the progression, the intensity swings between Backstage and Solo Mode, all of that is what gives the game depth.
If you removed the guitars and replaced them with a completely different skin, I still think the game would stand out. That’s always a good sign.”
Q: What can players expect in terms of bonus features? How do the Equalizer features work?

OP: “The Equalizer features are really the backbone of the base game experience.
Individually, the features are actually quite familiar mechanics, and that was intentional. When you’re building something new, it’s important to still give players moments and mechanics they immediately understand.
The fun part starts when the Equalizer features begin stacking and interacting with each other. Especially in the Full Volume spin where all four can combine at once. That’s when things become very rock ’n’ roll.
Then on top of that, players can choose between two completely different bonus experiences. Backstage is more progressive and persistent, while Solo Mode is built around momentum, intensity, and pushing things as far as possible before crashing out.”
Q: Can you explain how the unique Solo Mode Bonus works?

OP: “Solo Mode is all about momentum and survival. Instead of feeling like separate spins, the whole sequence is designed to feel connected, where one moment builds into the next while the speed and intensity keep increasing.
You collect batteries to keep the show alive, while the Collector Bar moves across the reels collecting wins, upgrades, and boosters. The deeper you go, the faster and more chaotic things become. That constant escalation is what makes the mode so exciting to play.
When everything starts connecting, it stops feeling like a slot session and starts feeling more like you’re a rockstar ripping a solo in front of a fully packed arena.”
Q: Are you planning to use the mechanic from the Solo Mode Bonus in future releases?
OP: “Me and the studio would absolutely love to make a sequel to this game. We think the mechanic has a lot of potential, and Guitar Quest has been both a fun and challenging project to work on.
Hopefully the game climbs the charts so we get the chance to release a second album.”
Q: What else can we expect from Relax Gaming in 2026?
OP: “We’re in a very interesting phase as a provider right now, where we’re actively reshaping our identity.
You can expect us to keep pushing new and bold mechanics, while still maintaining the high production quality we’ve always been known for.
Big things are coming later this year. I wish I could say more, but I probably shouldn’t… haha. Let’s have another chat later this year.”
